1.. To be held over 3 weekends – 2 Sundays/1 Saturday (keep father’s day free)

4/9 – Runcorn Indians
12/9 – Surfers Paradise
2.. Under 14 and Under 16 only
3.. Regions to supply:
- Baseballs (home team 2 away team 1)
- Umpires (Home team plate away base – please level 0 minimum) – I realise level 1 seminar is on first weekend
- Scorers
4.. Games to be
- 1hrs 40 mins duration
- do not start an innings within 5 minutes of finish time
- finish an innings if started BUT if home team in front do not complete bottom of innings
- no runner for catcher – please ensure you have a catcher ready to warm pitcher up
- 6 across the plate rule applies i.e. innings completes on 6 across the plate in all innings
5.. Other rules
- 30 pitches maximum per pitcher per outay (however to speed up can finish the batter only if it takes him/her over in the one day)
- players cannot pitch and catch in the same day
- Participation to be at coaches discretion but recommended as close to 50% as possible
- Umpires instructed to keep things moving – we want as much action as possible
- Use the local canteen – these clubs are supporting this competition so they deserve our support
- Say thanks to the local volunteers !

- no scorecards as such but statistics to be kept as such for state coach purposes (example attached)
- disputes – I will be on hand but maybe umpiring but am alternately I am also deaf (many A grade coaches have said also blind)

We all know that getting your Levels in scoring is time consuming for both yourselves and the Trainers. Our training weekends have been such a success we are going again with it this year.
If you are wanting to do Level 1, 2, 3 this weekend is for you. Unfortunately numbers are limited due to space and the availability of Trainers. For organisational purposes we need you to reply if you are coming by the 14th August 2010.

DEMONS SHINE FOR SUNNY COAST
Demons players made up 9 of the 14 players representing Sunshine Coast Region in the recent State 14 years and under school baseball championships at Redlands. After a shaky start and a second day washout, Sunny Coast bounced back to beat favourites Met East 10-0 and drew the last game in a nail biter against Met West to finish equal 3rd in the tournament.
Demons players were: Blake Rowe, Nick Payne, Matt Jubb, Braden Lockyer, Bryce Collins, Dallas Wakefield, Brock Carpenter, Christian Ramsay and Jarrod Flood.
Dallas pitched brilliantly straight after hopping off an overnight flight from the Little League tour of China.
Jarrod made a great transition from playing on a much smaller size U12 field and quickly learnt the art of taking leads and stealing, he also did a great job catching to some much faster pitching than he was used to.
Matt Jubb (our front row forward) had batters shaking in their cleats with his shear presence on the mound and his 75mph fast ball, we lost count of how many of his line drives dropped just inches short of the home run fence!
Brock pitched (or should I say bowled ) brilliantly under pressure in the last innings of our final game, in front of a huge crowd to hold Met West to a draw.
Christian and Nick were crowd pleasers with some spectacular outfield catches that turned games around.
Braden Lockyer, Blake Rowe and Bryce Collins were awarded MVP for individual games. Braden found his hitting and pitching mojo, Blake caught for an incredible 5 out of 6 games and made some sensational tag outs and Bryce hit a big home run against Easts star pitcher.
Bryce Collins took out Best Pitcher for the tournament with an ERA of 1.5, Bryce also took out Tournament MVP.
3 players - Blake Rowe, Matt Jubb and Bryce Collins were named in the State Team to Tour NSW in early October - Congratulations!
The Team was coached by Nick Bachono, Troy Pannunzio and Josh Hobbs. Team was managed by Carol Bachono - a big thankyou to them.

3 Demons Little League players are off to China
Demons in China
Congratulation to Demons Little League Players - Dallas Wakefield, Carter Bell and Ryan Collins who have been selected for the Baseball Queensland Team to tour China in August. They were selected based on their performance in the recent Little League State Titles held at Redlands. The 3 players were members of the Demons U12 Major Team which was undefeated last season and went on to win the combined Brisbane North/Metro series. This is the 20th anniversary year of the China Friendship tournament. Last year due to the Global Economic Crisis QLD was the only international team to attend winning 4 out of the 6 games and taking out the tournament (first time an Aussie team ever won a game!) This year the six team competition will be much stronger affair, including two teams from Taiwan (Chinese Taipei ..AAA Gold Medalists), two local teams from Beijing and a team from South Korea. They leave on 10th August and return home on 19th August - we wish them all the best!. Follow their progress here......

First Aid Training Course - Interested Parties Required Now
Moreton Bay Shire Council is conducting a First Aid training course for all interested members of the Narangba Demons Baseball Club.
Course content will include CPR, the respiratory system and chest injuries, fractures and sports injuries, spinal
injuries, burns, poisons, bleeding and shock.
Anyone intetested in particpating in the course should or requiring further information should contact Club President Andy Irving asap and before Monday 28th June 2010.
